Demaquiller
January 23, 2012 07:13 PM PST
This is the rather over due follow up to Maquiller. It's got some great covers (under their new labels) by Paul Goodyear and Wayne G as well as some new takes on what are for me, dance floor classics. Enjoy. Nx Down For Whatever (feat. The WAVs) (Steve Pitron & Max Sanna Club Mix)

As Europe moves into song selection mode for Eurovision 2012, it's rather opportune that I present my second podcast dedicated to Schlager...to be precise, Scandinavian Schlager. This podcast contains three highlights for me in particular: finally I've been able to include possibly one of the gayest songs ever recorded ("The Bells of Freedom"); you'll find an absolutely heaven mix of Robyn's "Dancing on my Own"; and then there's "Bailamor" by the Swedish 80s pop duo Lili & Susie (who competed in Sweden's 2009 Melodifestivalen). Enough said. Enjoy Blame It On a Decent Matter

Mykonos became the global point of convergence to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday earlier this month. XLsior also happened, by chance, to celebrate its first ever Mykonos Dance Festival at the same time - but THAT is another story. In preparation for the 40th birthday shenanigans, I prepared a couple of CDs for the birthday boy. Here's the first volume. Enjoy. No One Gonna Love You (Bimbo Jones Vocal Remix)

I got to thinking of summer earlier this month - or to be precise, the absence of one here in London - and it got me reminiscing about one of my favourite times of the year: the annual beach holiday @ Lennox Head and the new year's day bash. I used to love driving home from Tropical Fruits with the sunroof open, as the sun rose across Lennox Head beach. This podcast is a tribute to a decade of sun, family, friends and the odd torrential downpour. It's also much more relaxed that my earlier podcasts - I think you'll see what I mean. Help Me Make It (Deep Mix)

Last month, I pulled together a couple of mixes for a friend's birthday: as I couldn't join them on Cockatoo Island in Sydney for the party celebrations, I thought I'd give them a little bit of Nell intermingled with some of Paws's fave trax and artists. The result: Before and Later. Enjoy. Before playlist: Someone Like You (Thin Red Men Remix)

Thinking of my family and friends back home celebrating Mardi Gras. Here's a little something I pulled together for whether you're getting ready to go out or you've just come home to freshen up to go out again or just travelling to/from the next party. Missing you all. Have a safe and wonderful Mardi Gras. Nx Turn It Up (Wawa Club Mix)

This podcast was inspired by a couple of truly memorable events that I had in January - the type where lives converge in that special way: I was lucky enought to catch two friends of mine, Troy Cox and Johan Khoury, dj at "Love Child" (@Fire, London) before merrily trotting off across the Pond for some transatlantic clubbing (oh, and work) with my "dirty bit" gal-pal Sheila. I'm not wedded to any one style of music - as I think this podcast will show - I'm always happy to explore new avenues and see where they take me. So how would I describe this podcast: progressive with my usual touch of camp? You be the judge! Enjoy Oops Sorry (DJs From Mars Remix)

Kicking the new year off to a very CAMP start, putting the X-chromosone in G-A-Y, and adding a good dose of Eurovision, it's the much anticipated second instalment of Almighty Monkey. Included on this mix is perhaps one of the gayest collaborations ever (Pet Shop Boys, Liza and Sondheim - can it get any better?). Again, an affair (to remember) with the wife. Enjoy. Je ne sais quoi (7th Heaven Club Mix)

There's obviously something about the winter chills that's keeping this princess and her kitty tidy. Anyway, it's not about me, it's about the music. Some of my favourite trax of 2010 in this mix. Enjoy. Love Is the Boss (Stefano Gamma Original Mix)

After a long hiatus, she's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. That's right, she's crawled up from Down Under and arisen in the winter wonderland that is London. Enjoy Nell's first mix Mayd in England. Turn It Up (Digital Dog Club Mix)
A big kiss and thanks to Cory & the CB crew who makes this possible, Bubble and Pap for your support and advice. A Darker Shade of Nell
January 21, 2010 01:31 AM PST
This podcast now completes the set presenting the very extensive and colourful shades of Nell and her deeply divided personality. This set contains one of my all-time favorite club floor trax, "Movin' Up", which, each time I hear it, brings back a flood of great memories. I hope you enjoy. Relax (Lockout's London Mix)

As someone who is unashamedly deeply shallow, I present "A Lighter Shade of Nell". Without wanting to mispresent myself, the comparative nature of the title reflects the difficulty in finding the delineation required. But after some struggle, the following playlist emerged, containing some old classics re-done (thanks in particular, Paul Goodyear) and a couple of songs that may border on the "just a little too camp". The Only Way Is Up '09 (Soulmakers Mix)

It's taken some time, but my latest (well, my first) podcast is finally done. I think that the song choice reflects the dirty bitch that Nell truly is, deep, deep down (well, as deep as she goes any way...) I Can't Live Without Music (Chris Moody & Marcelo Oleas Remix)

About Nell'ee MayditNell (as she's generally known to her friends, but also bitch, trashy whore...) graduated from ballet school to night club. With music having always been a part of her life, it's no surprise that she ended up with a set of decks and a few CDs. Being the quiet, stay-at-home kinda gal, she generally plays around the home and the occasional house party. While she is more fondly known amongst her friends for her choice of camp toons, she's also quite partial to a dirty, grinding beat. She has been fortunate enough to, on occasion, spin some discs publicly, including at the Midnight Shift, slide, RISING! and Trashy Events "Halloween Whores" (how apt!). The highlights of her very short public career was playing the Taj Mahal Room at Toybox (March 09) and Drag! at the Sydney Opera House (July 09). Followers
